The Benefits

Cycling provides a range of benefits for those with movement disorders. Research conducted by Dr. Jay Alberts here in Cleveland and promoted through his Pedaling for Parkinson’s project, has shown that clients experience a reduction in symptoms of Parkinson’s after completing an eight-week cycling program, including a decrease in tremors and improvement in handwriting.

Spinning for Parkinson’s

Join Certified Parkinson’s Cycling Coach Sandy Ellis for an hour of spinning specifically designed for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD)! The coach will guide clients through this PD exercise program and help them pedal to their peak.

Each class runs 60 minutes and includes 10 minutes of warm-up, 40 minutes of intervals, and 10 minutes of cool down. The class is open to clients at all physical fitness and Parkinson’s disease progression levels and can be easily modified for client needs.

–  Become familiar with spinning bike features
–  Learn to set-up your bike for class
–  Become familiar with RPMs & cadence
–  Learn about heart rate zones and your health

We will go for short and then longer rides as we begin to feel more comfortable.
