Wellness Workshops

Wellness Workshops are offered monthly at InMotion from September to April. These workshops offer a deep dive into health and wellness topics such as forgiveness, gratitude, resilience, self-care, and restful sleep.

Presented By:

Betsy Kohn; M.A., P.C.
Betsy Kohn was one of the original staff members at The Gathering Place, a cancer support center, and worked there for 20 years. She held a variety of positions including Volunteer Director, a member of the  clinical staff, and Program Coordinator. Betsy was the Chief Program Officer for two years, during which she supervised the clinical team and contract staff, facilitated workshops, led a variety of support groups and met individually with participants. Betsy has a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from John Carroll University and a Master’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from The University of Oregon.

Mary Bornstein, LISW-S
Mary Fisher Bornstein has a Bachelor’s Degree in social work from The Ohio State University and a Master’s Degree in social work from Case Western Reserve University. Mary has worked at The Gathering Place, a cancer support center for the past 23 years. She facilitates several groups including grief groups, prostate cancer groups, breast cancer groups, and other groups as needed. She supports individual participants and coordinates the healing arts program. Mary is a Reiki Master and teaches first and second year medical students at CWRU.

    Techniques will be shared on ways to manage fear and anxiety, which are often difficult feelings to acknowledge and express.
  • Wednesday, November 6, 2024: Achieving Joy and Happiness Through Gratitude
    We will focus on ways to cultivate gratitude, which can often be a pathway to leading a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
  • Wednesday, December 4, 2024: Surviving and Thriving the Holiday Season
    Learn ways to take care of yourself, conserve energy, manage expectations, find meaning, and create new traditions during this time of year.
  • Wednesday, January 15, 2025: Dreaming Sweet Dreams
    Sleep is so important to our overall well-being and is often a concern and challenge for everyone. We will center our discussion on sleep tips, habits to help you fall asleep and dream sweet dreams!
  • Wednesday, February 5, 2025: Loss and Grief
    Grief is a deeply personal experience. We will discuss ways to help you cope.
  • Wednesday, March 5, 2025: The Power of Self-Forgiveness
    Take your power back and redirect your energy. An interactive workshop to learn strategies to help us forgive.
  • Wednesday, April 2, 2025: Spring Renewal and Setting Intentions
    As we enter into the season of growth and rejuvenation, we have an opportunity to assess our values and priorities. We will discuss goal setting and strategies to guide us on this journey.
