Betsy Kohn; M.A., P.C.
Betsy Kohn was one of the original staff members at The Gathering Place, a cancer support center, and worked there for 20 years. She held a variety of positions including Volunteer Director, a member of the clinical staff, and Program Coordinator. Betsy was the Chief Program Officer for two years, during which she supervised the clinical team and contract staff, facilitated workshops, led a variety of support groups and met individually with participants. Betsy has a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from John Carroll University and a Master’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from The University of Oregon.

Mary Bornstein, LISW-S
Mary Fisher Bornstein has a Bachelor’s Degree in social work from The Ohio State University and a Master’s Degree in social work from Case Western Reserve University. Mary has worked at The Gathering Place, a cancer support center for the past 23 years. She facilitates several groups including grief groups, prostate cancer groups, breast cancer groups, and other groups as needed. She supports individual participants and coordinates the healing arts program. Mary is a Reiki Master and teaches first and second year medical students at CWRU.

Open to clients and care partners. We will discuss how to take care of yourself, conserve your energy, manage expectations, and find meaning during this time of year.
January 3, 2024: Power of Self-Forgiveness
Open to clients and care partners. Together we will learn how forgiveness can help you feel free and more empowered.
February 7, 2024: Forgiveness of Others
Forgiveness is a conscious decision to let go of feelings of resentment and anger. Clients and care partners will discuss the challenges of forgiving others, which can help to lead a more productive life.
March 6, 2024: Dreaming Sweet Dreams
Sleep can be a concern and challenging for everyone! Open to clients and care partners, we will focus on techniques to help you fall asleep, stay asleep, and dream sweet dreams.
April 3, 2024: Spring Renewal & Setting Intentions
Spring is season of growth and rejuvenation, and an opportunity to assess your values and priorities. Clients and care partners will discuss goals and strategies to set intentions.
